Fiscal Detail and Notes
Limiting criminal background checks to the initial licensure of emergency medical services personnel will result in the estimated annual loss of $25,200 in General Fund revenue currently collected by the Department of Public Safety from background checks conducted on renewal licensures.  However, requiring that those persons previously licensed as emergency medical services personnel that did not have a criminal background check conducted at the time of initial licensure must obtain a background check at the time of relicensing will completely offset this revenue loss for fiscal year 2005-06 and reduce the revenue loss for fiscal year 2006-07 by an estimated $10,500.
