The Secretary of
State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one ballot of average
length for the general election in November. If the number or size of the
referendum questions increases the ballot length, an additional appropriation
of $8,000 or more may be required. A
special election would require an additional appropriation of $121,392. |

Assuming
that all eligible stores would become licensed as agency liquor stores , the
removal of certain licensing restrictions would result in estimated General
Fund revenue increases of $4,016,000 and $600,000 in fiscal years 2005-06 and
2006-07, respectively, from license application and other fees. In addition, the Department of Public
Safety would require additional General Fund appropriations of $119,243 and
$155,917 in fiscal years 2005-06 and 2006-07, respectively, for increased
inspection costs. |
