| Requiring the Legislative Council to provide laptops to all legislators beginning January 2006 will result in additional costs to the Legislature in the amount of $911,050 in fiscal year 2005-06 and annual ongoing operating costs of $87,500 beginning in fiscal year 2006-07. The bill further states that savings in printing, out-of-state travel and cuts to the budget of the Legislature must be used to fund the purchase of these proposed laptops. Whether the Legislature will be able to identify the necessary offsetting savings and budget cuts required to offset the cost of the computers can not be determined at this time. | |||||||||
