The Secretary of
State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one ballot of average
length for the general election in November. If the number or size of the
referendum questions increases the ballot length, an additional appropriation
of $8,000 or more may be required. A
special election would require an additional appropriation of $121,392. |

The
authorization of new requirements for the procurement of a driver's license
will require additional Highway Fund allocations to the Bureau of Motor
Vehicles within the Department of the Secretary of State in the amounts of
$152,438 and $158,661 in fiscal years 2005-06 and 2006-07, respectively, for
increased operational and personnel costs.
In addition, a projected reduction in the number of license renewals
will decrease Highway Fund revenue by an estimated $5,625 and $7,500 in
fiscal years 2005-06 and 2006-07, respectively. |
