Prohibiting
the federal government from owning certain property in the state and further
requiring that the State of Maine purchase these properties will result in
significant General Fund costs to the Department of Administrative and
Financial Services and to the Department of Conservation. The amounts can not be determined at this
time. The Department of Conservation
estimates that the identification, appraisal and surveying costs alone would
range in the millions of dollars. |
