The city City of Portland are is hereby authorized to
appropriate and pay, annually, toward the expenses of
establishing and maintaining said institution, a sum not
exceeding one dollar for each of its ratable polls, in the year
next preceding that in which said appropriation is made; and may
also furnish rooms for its accommodation.

 
Emergency clause. In view of the emergency cited in the preamble,
this Act takes effect when approved.

 
Effective May 20, 2005.
