Resolve, To Name the New Bridge over the Penobscot River
Sec. 1. Downeast Gateway Bridge. Resolved: That the new bridge crossing the Penobscot River on U.S. Route 1 that replaces the Waldo-Hancock Bridge between the towns of Prospect and Verona Island be named the Downeast Gateway Bridge; and be it further
Sec. 2. Penobscot Observatory Tower. Resolved: That the westerly tower at the entrance to the bridge in Prospect be named the Penobscot Observatory Tower; and be it further
Sec. 3. Signs erected. Resolved: That the Department of Transportation shall erect signs in both directions of access to the bridge that indicate the names under sections 1 and 2.
SUMMARY
This resolve names the new bridge that crosses the Penobscot River between the towns of Prospect and Verona Island the Downeast Gateway Bridge and the tower at the entrance to the bridge in Prospect the Penobscot Observatory Tower and directs the Department of Transportation to erect signs that indicate these names.
