Sec. 1. 30-A MRSA §2181, sub-§7, as amended by PL 2005, c. 222, §2, is further amended to read:

7. Staff assistance. The Executive Department, State Planning Office shall provide or arrange all necessary staffing and support services for the advisory commission. The State Planning Office may contract with appropriate entities to provide staffing and support services. The State Planning Office shall designate an individual as the intergovernmental coordinator. The purpose of the coordinator is to encourage improved governmental cooperation, efficiencies in service delivery and coordination of regional and cooperative efforts initiated through state departments and agencies.

Sec. 2. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations and allocations are made.

SUMMARY

This bill increases staffing for the Intergovernmental Advisory Commission. The appropriation of $4,000 is to be used for administrative and research services. The Executive Department, State Planning Office shall arrange the staffing that is supported by this appropriation.
