| The Legislature finds that forestry is an integral part of the |
economy and culture of the State and that the forestry industry |
has made its land available for public recreational use, which |
has given rise to the well-recognized tradition of high-quality |
outdoor recreational opportunities in this State.__The |
Legislature recognizes the importance of sustainable forestry |
practices in maintaining the Maine woods for both forest products |
production and public access and recreation.__The Legislature |
recognizes the State's obligation to assist in the maintenance of |
the productive, working forest to support both the forest |
products industry and public access and recreation in the Maine |
woods. |
