Sec. 1. 17-A MRSA §214 is enacted to read:

§214.__Vehicular manslaughter

1.__A person commits the strict liability crime of vehicular manslaughter if that person, while operating a motor vehicle and committing a traffic infraction, causes the death of another person.

2.__Vehicular manslaughter is a Class D crime.
