Sec. 1. Bureau of Parks and Lands to establish Sebago Lake Village State Park.
Resolved: That the Department of Conservation, Bureau of Parks and
Lands, pursuant to its authority under the Maine Revised
Statutes, Title 12, section 1812, shall acquire the existing boat
ramp on Sebago Lake from the Town of Standish and 20 acres of
land surrounding the boat ramp owned by the Portland Water
District for the purpose of establishing Sebago Lake Village
State Park. The State shall compensate the Town of Standish for
the fair market value of the town's property acquired from the
town and the Portland Water District for the value of the
property acquired from the district as determined by the tax owed
for the district's property under the Maine Tree Growth Tax Law;
and be it further

 
Sec. 2. Bureau of Parks and Lands to make improvements. Resolved: That the
Department of Conservation, Bureau of Parks and Lands shall
expand and improve in its existing location the boat ramp
acquired from the Town of Standish pursuant to this Act and
create parking for 100 cars or boat trailers; and be it further

 
Sec. 3. Bureau of Parks and Lands to create memorial. Resolved: That the
Department of Conservation, Bureau of Parks and Lands shall
create within Sebago Lake Village State Park a memorial to the
British pilots who crashed their planes into Sebago Lake during
World War II; and be it further

 
Sec. 4. People of Town of Standish to approve moving boat ramp. Resolved: That a
proposal to move the boat ramp from Sebago Lake Village State
Park must be approved by a 2/3 majority of voters of the Town of
Standish at a regularly scheduled election.

 
SUMMARY

 
This resolve directs the Department of Conservation, Bureau of
Parks and Lands to purchase the boat ramp on Sebago Lake in the
Town of Standish and 20 acres of Portland Water District property
surrounding the boat ramp to establish Sebago Lake Village State
Park. The State will pay the Town of Standish fair market value
for the property acquired from the town for the park and the
Portland Water District for the value of the property acquired
from the district at the value of the property as determined by
the tax assessed under the Maine Tree Growth Tax Law. This
resolve directs the Bureau of Parks and Lands to improve the boat
ramp in its existing location, create parking for 100 cars or
boat trailers and create a memorial in the park for the British
pilots who crashed their planes into Sebago Lake
