An Act To Require Valid Identification for All Purchases of Liquor

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 28-A MRSA §15
is enacted to read:
§15.__Identification required
A licensee may sell liquor to a person only if that person
displays an unexpired and otherwise valid driver's license or a
state identification card issued by any state of the United
States or any of its territories or the District of Columbia
showing a photograph and signature.
SUMMARY
This bill requires a person regardless of that person's age to
present identification at the time of purchase of liquor.
