General
Fund appropriations will be required to fund a 17 cent increase in mileage
paid to jurors and a $45 increase in per diem paid to jurors over a two year
period beginning July 1, 2004. This
bill specifies that payment of the proposed increases for jurors must come
from fines, forfeitures, penalties and fees levied pursuant to a criminal or
civil action by the courts. Costs
associated with the State Court Administrator submitting legislation
implementing this payment requirement can be absorbed by the Judical
Department utilizing existing budgeted resources. |
