fiscal impact of this legislation depends on the number of suits filed by
certain employees. In a worst case
scenario the potential cost could be up to $1,000,000 per occurance for an
employee or former employee of the State of Maine who sues under specified
federal employment laws. The
additional costs to the Department of Attorney General for defending each
claim can not be determined at this time. |
