Fiscal Detail and Notes
Requiring that the Bureau of Motor Vehicles within the Department of the Secretary of State rescind vehicle registrations of those people who paid the vehicle excise tax with a bad check will increase Highway Fund costs of the bureau by $41,100 and by $50,053 in fiscal years 2003-04 and 2004-05, respectively.  The bureau will also collect increased revenues for the Highway Fund from reinstatement fees; the estimated amounts will be $2,011 and $2,681 in fiscal years 2003-04 and 2004-05, respectively.
