The
requirement that the state not use juveniles in conducting any tobacco
enforcement actions may result in the Department of Behavioral and
Developmental Services losing a portion of the Substance Abuse Block Grant
funds. Approximately $2,400,000 per
year may be in jeopardy if the state is unable to substitute an effective,
federally approved alternative. The
likelihood of the loss of federal funds can not be determined at this time. |
