Item 1

 
(a)__A health care professional;

 
(b)__A representative of a Maine-based
manufacturing business with 25 or more employees;
and

 
(c)__A representative of an economic development
organization; and

 
(6)__Three members of the public appointed by the
Speaker of the House as follows:

 
(a)__A person who is active in the organized labor
community;

 
(b)__A member of a nonprofit human rights
organization; and

 
(c)__A member of a nonprofit environmental
organization.

 
In making appointments of members of the public, the
appointing authorities shall make every effort to appoint
representatives of generally recognized and organized
constituencies of the interest groups mentioned in
subparagraphs (4), (5) and (6); and

 
B.__The following 5 commissioners or the commissioners'
designees of the following 5 departments who serve as ex
officio, nonvoting members:

 
(1)__Department of Labor;

 
(2)__Department of Economic and Community Development;

 
(3)__Department of Environmental Protection;

 
(4)__Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural
Resources; and

 
(5)__Department of Human Services.

 
5.__Terms; vacancies; limits.__Except for Legislators,
commissioners and the Attorney General, who serve terms
coincident with their elective or appointed terms, all members
are appointed for 3-year terms.__A vacancy must be filled by the
same appointing authority that made the original appointment.__
Appointed members may not serve more than 2 terms.__Members may
