| | | Sec. FF-4. Transfer of funds. Notwithstanding any other provision of | | law, the State Controller shall transfer $2,500 in fiscal year | | 2003-04 and $2,500 in fiscal year 2004-05 in savings from the | | State Revolving Fund Other Special Revenue Funds account in the | | Department of Environmental Protection to the unappropriated | | surplus of the General Fund no later than June 30, 2004 and June | | 30, 2005. |

| | | Sec. GG-1. 5 MRSA §17851, sub-§10, as amended by PL 1997, c. 769, §9, | | is further amended to read: |

| | | 10. Liquor inspectors. Except as provided in subsection 10-A | | and in section 17851-A, a liquor inspector, including the chief | | inspector, qualifies for a service retirement benefit if that | | inspector: |
|
| | | A. Was employed in that capacity before September 1, 1984; |
|
| | | B. Completes at least 25 years of creditable service in | | that capacity; and |
|
| | | C. Retires upon or after reaching age 55. |

| | | Sec. GG-2. 5 MRSA §17851, sub-§10-A is enacted to read: |

| | | 10-A.__Liquor inspectors laid off pursuant to public law.__ | | This subsection applies to any liquor inspector, including the | | chief inspector, who: |
|
| | | A.__Began employment as a liquor inspector or chief | | inspector prior to September 1, 1984; |
|
| | | B.__Was serving in that capacity on September 1, 1984; and |
|
| | | C.__Was laid off as a liquor inspector or chief inspector | | pursuant to Public Law 2003, chapter 20. |
|
| | | Notwithstanding any other law, a liquor inspector or chief | | inspector covered by this subsection who did not complete the age | | or service requirements for retirement under section 17851, | | subsection 10 prior to being laid off and who subsequently earns | | service in any special or regular plan covered by the retirement | | system qualifies for a service retirement benefit upon completing | | at least 25 years of service and attaining 55 years of age. |
