Sec. 7. 19-A MRSA §2802, sub-§22, as enacted by PL 1995, c. 694, Pt.
B, §2 and affected by Pt. E, §2, is amended to read:

 
22. Support order. "Support order" means a judgment, decree
or, order or directive, whether temporary, final or subject to
modification, issued by a__tribunal for the benefit of a child, a
spouse or a former spouse, that provides for monetary support,
health care, arrearages or reimbursement. "Support order" may
include related costs and fees, interest, income withholding,
attorney's fees and other relief.

 
Sec. 8. 19-A MRSA §2803, as enacted by PL 1995, c. 694, Pt. B, §2
and affected by Pt. E, §2, is repealed and the following enacted
in its place:

 
§2803.__Remedies cumulative

 
1.__Remedies cumulative.__Remedies provided by this chapter
are cumulative and do not affect the availability of remedies
under other law, including the recognition of a support order of
a foreign country or political subdivision on the basis of
comity.

 
2.__Not exclusive method; jurisdiction.__This chapter does
not:

 
A.__Provide the exclusive method of establishing or
enforcing a support order under the laws of this State; or

 
B.__Grant a tribunal of this State jurisdiction to render
judgment or issue an order relating to parental rights and
responsibilities other than child support in a proceeding
under this chapter.

 
Sec. 9. 19-A MRSA c. 67, sub-c. 2, as amended, is repealed.

 
Sec. 10. 19-A MRSA c. 67, sub-c. 2-A is enacted to read:

JURISDICTION

 
§2961.__Bases for jurisdiction over nonresident

 
1.__Exercise of jurisdiction.__In a proceeding to establish or
enforce a support order or to determine parentage of a child, a
tribunal of this State may exercise personal jurisdiction over a
nonresident individual or the individual's guardian or
conservator if:
