| C.__Four representatives of the public, with no more than 3 | holding a license under chapter 927, to be appointed by the | Governor for a term of 3 years to reflect a wide diversity | of guiding experience.__At least 2 members must be chosen | for their expertise in outdoor recreation.__The public | members must be compensated as provided in Title 5, chapter | 379; and |

| D.__One marine patrol officer of the Department of Marine | Resources. |

| | 2.__Duties.__The board has the following duties: |
|
| A.__To provide advice and consent regarding rules proposed | by the commissioner; |
|
| B.__At the request of the commissioner, to conduct oral | examinations of applicants for guide licenses; |
|
| C.__To advise the commissioner on granting and revoking | guide licenses; and |
|
| D.__At the board's discretion, to designate examiners for | the purpose of conducting oral examinations pursuant to | section 12855, subsection 6.__Examiners must be selected | from active or retired members of the Bureau of Warden | Service, current or former board members, active or retired | members of the marine patrol or currently licensed Maine | guides.__Designated examiners are entitled to compensation | under the same provisions as the board. |

| | 3.__Quorum.__Five members of the board constitute a quorum. |

| Curriculum Advisory Board |
|
| | 1.__Board established.__The commissioner shall appoint a board | of 5 members to be known as the "Junior Maine Guides and Trip | Leaders Curriculum Advisory Board" and referred to in this | section as "the board," as established by Title 5, section 12004- | I, subsection 24. |

| | 2.__Membership.__The board consists of one member from the | department, one member from the Department of Human Services and | 3 members of the public, one of whom must be a Maine camp | director.__Appointments to the board are for 3 years or until | successors are appointed. |
