SUBCHAPTER 1

 
GENERAL HUNTING SEASON PROVISIONS

 
§10951. Closed season

 
1.__General; prohibition.__Except as otherwise provided in
this Part and except as the commissioner may establish by rule
not inconsistent with this Part, there is a perpetually closed
season on hunting any wild animal or wild bird.

 
§10952.__Open seasons for hunting with bow and arrow

 
A person may, except as otherwise provided in this Part, hunt
any wild bird or wild animal with a hand-held bow and arrow
during any open season on that bird or animal.

 
SUBCHAPTER 2

 
HUNTING LICENSE REQUIREMENTS AND FEES

 
§11101.__Application and issuance

 
A resident or nonresident may apply for and the commissioner
or the commissioner's authorized agent may issue a written
license to hunt wild animals and wild birds.

 
§11102.__Age limitation for hunting with weapon; prohibition

 
A person under 10 years of age may not hunt wild animals or
wild birds with firearms, bow and arrow or a muzzle-loader.

 
§11103.__Convicted felon

 
A person who is prohibited from possessing a firearm under
Title 15, section 393, subsection 1 is not eligible to obtain or
possess any license or permit issued by the department that
authorizes a person to hunt with a firearm unless that person
possesses a valid permit in accordance with Title 15, section
393, subsection 2.

 
§11104.__Mental deficiency or illness; prohibition

 
A hunting license may not be issued to a person who is a
mentally ill person, as defined in Title 34-B, section 3801, or
who has a mental deficiency or mental illness, as those terms are
defined in Title 34-B, section 9002.
