Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §1874, as enacted by PL 1997, c. 678, §13, is amended by adding after the first paragraph a new paragraph to read:

The person responsible for day-to-day management of the waterway must have received at the time of appointment, or must receive within 6 months of appointment to the position, 80 hours of training in the management of wilderness areas.

SUMMARY

This bill provides that the manager of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway have or receive training in the management of wilderness areas.
