Sec. 1. 36 MRSA §6206, as enacted by PL 1987, c. 516, §§3 and 6, is amended by adding at the end a new paragraph to read:

For purposes of this section, "income" does not include any funds received by a claimant from a national association of organizations and professionals dedicated to promoting the dignity, self-determination, well-being and contributions of older persons.

SUMMARY

This bill provides that funds received from the National Council on Aging may not be included in determining income for purposes of eligibility for the so-called "circuit breaker" program.
