Sec. 1. 24-A MRSA §4303, sub-§9 is enacted to read:

9. Reimbursement rates.__Upon request by the superintendent, by an enrollee or by an enrollee's representative, a carrier shall provide information related to rates of reimbursement for all health plans offered by the carrier, including the usual and customary fees paid to providers and the methodology used by the carrier for calculating rates of reimbursement to providers participating in the carrier's health plans.

SUMMARY

This bill requires carriers to provide information related to the reimbursement rates for providers participating in its health plans upon request by the Superintendent of Insurance, by an enrollee or by an enrollee's representative.
