| | | Sec. 1. 30-A MRSA §4329 is enacted to read: |

| | | §4329.__Municipal surcharge authorized |
|
| | | The legislative body of a municipality may impose a | | surcharge on new construction located outside its designated | | growth area, identified pursuant to section 4326. |
|
| | | A municipality that elects to adopt a surcharge pursuant to | | this section shall apply the surcharge in the manner and in | | the amount authorized by that municipality's legislative body. |
|
| | | This bill authorizes a municipality to impose a surcharge on | | new construction located outside its designated growth area. |
