Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §1912, sub-§6 is enacted to read:

6.__Motorcycles.__A person may not operate a motorcycle that does not comply with federal noise emission control standards for motorcycles pursuant to 40 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 205.__A person may not operate a motorcycle with an exhaust system that is not the original manufacturer's equipment or a manufacturer-approved replacement.__Violation of this subsection is a civil violation for which a fine of $100 must be assessed and the court may take remedial action.
