| | Sec. 1. Department of Public Safety required to report to Joint Standing Committee on | Transportation. Resolved: That the Department of Public Safety shall | report monthly, beginning January 1, 2004, to the Joint | Standing Committee on Transportation the following | information: |

| | 1. The number of commercial trucks stopped by the | Department of Public Safety, Bureau of State Police, by | region; |
|
| | 2. The reason for stopping each commercial truck or | category of defect found on each commercial truck; and |
|
| | 3. The origin and destination of the shipment each | commercial truck is hauling. |

| | This bill requires the Department of Public Safety to make | monthly reports, beginning January 1, 2004, to the Joint | Standing Committee on Transportation. The report must include | the following information: |

| | 1. The number of commercial trucks stopped by the | Department of Public Safety, Bureau of State Police, by | region; |
|
| | 2. The reason for stopping each commercial truck or | category of defect found on each commercial truck; and |
