Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §7824, sub-§10, ¶B, as amended by PL 1997, c. 227, §5, is further amended to read:

B. The registration number assigned to a snowmobile must be reflective and displayed in such form and manner as the commissioner may determine, except that an antique snowmobile is not required to display registration numbers.

Sec. 2. Application. The requirement under the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 12, section 7824, subsection 10, paragraph B that snowmobile registration numbers be reflective applies to snowmobiles registered on or after the effective date of this Act.

SUMMARY

This bill requires that snowmobile registration numbers be reflective for newly registered snowmobiles and when any registration numbers on a previously registered snowmobile are replaced.
