2. Coordination of the State's Internet policy-making structures; and

3. Other issues that relate to the commercial uses of the Internet described in the charge to the Blue Ribbon Commission to Establish a Comprehensive Internet Policy, created by Resolve 1999, chapter 89 and amended by Public Law 1999, chapter 762; and be it further

Sec. 6. Staff assistance. Resolved: That upon approval of the Legislative Council, the Office of Policy and Legal Analysis shall provide necessary staffing services to the commission; and be it further

Sec. 7. Compensation. Resolved: That Legislators who are members of the commission are entitled to receive legislative per diem, as defined in the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 3, section 2 and reimbursement for travel and other necessary expenses for attendance at meetings of the commission; and be it further

Sec. 8. Report. Resolved: That the commission shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations, including any recommended legislation, to the Second Regular Session of the 120th Legislature by November 1, 2001. If the commission requires an extension of time to make its report, it may apply to the Legislative Council, which may grant the extension.

SUMMARY

This resolve establishes the Commission to Review Internet Policy. The 11-member commission is charged with studying issues related to the commercial uses of information on the Internet.
