5.__Institutions providing education.__A list of all institutions
and programs providing education or training for adults and
dislocated workers with Individual Training programs;

 
6.__Number of persons who completed plan.__The number of
adults and dislocated workers who completed core services and
intensive service plans and education and training under an
Individual Training program;

 
7.__Wage rates and benefits.__The range of wage rates and
benefits, including health insurance provided, and the full- or
part-time work status for individuals who received core services,
intensive services and training or education under an Individual
Training program, both at the time of placement following the
completion of training and 6 months after the first day of
employment;

 
8.__Number of persons who received degrees.__The number of
adults and dislocated workers who became licensed or certified to
perform a particular job or received an academic degree or
equivalent as a result of participation under the Workforce
Investment Act of 1998; and

 
9.__Copies of performance information.__Copies of performance
information made available to prospective trainees on each
certified training provider under the Workforce Investment Act of
1998.

 
SUMMARY

 
This bill requires that at least 1/3 of all federal funds
received by the State under the federal Workforce Investment Act
of 1998 be used for education and skills training. It further
requires that at least 15% of funds be used for support services
such as child care and transportation for individuals enrolled in
an education or training program. It also requires that the
Maine Department of Labor provide the joint standing committee of
the Legislature having jurisdiction over labor matters with
certain information annually related to expenditure of funds and
program outcomes under the federal Workforce Investment Act of
1998.
