| | | Sec. 2. 14 MRSA §753-B is enacted to read: |

| | | §753-B.__Action alleging negligence in real estate title opinions |
|
| | | Notwithstanding section 753-A, an action alleging professional | | negligence of a licensed attorney in the rendering of a real | | estate title opinion must be commenced within 20 years from the | | date the opinion is rendered. |

| | | This bill provides a 20-year statute of limitations for | | actions alleging professional negligence of attorneys in the | | rendering of real estate title opinions that begins to run the | | date an opinion is rendered. |
