| | | Emergency preamble. Whereas, Acts and resolves of the Legislature do | | not become effective until 90 days after adjournment unless | | enacted as emergencies; and |

| | | Whereas, the municipal officers of the Town of Brownfield desire | | that the Legislature approve the naming of a currently unnamed | | bridge in that town the Charles E. Hill Bridge; and |

| | | Whereas, that bridge is the portion of Route 160 that crosses | | the Saco River and is to be named for a prominent citizen of the | | town who has been instrumental in bringing positive changes, | | modern conveniences and employment to the town; and |
|
| | | Whereas, Charles E. Hill is from one of the first families of | | Brownfield and the town is eager to recognize him in his | | lifetime; and |
|
| | | Whereas, in the judgment of the Legislature, these facts create | | an emergency within the meaning of the Constitution of Maine and | | require the following legislation as immediately necessary for | | the preservation of the public peace, health and safety; now, | | therefore, be it |

| | | Sec. 1. Charles E. Hill Bridge. Resolved: That the bridge on Route 160 | | that crosses the Saco River in the Town of Brownfield, Oxford | | County, be named the Charles E. Hill Bridge and that the | | Department of Transportation erect a sign indicating the name of | | this bridge. |

| | | Emergency clause. In view of the emergency cited in the preamble, | | this resolve takes effect when approved. |

| | | This resolve names the Route 160 bridge that crosses the Saco | | River in the Town of Brownfield the Charles E. Hill Bridge after | | a prominent local citizen. |
