Rep. Rebecca Millett is serving her second term in the Maine House of Representatives, after serving eight years in the Maine Senate. She is a member of both the budget-writing Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee and the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee. Rep. Millett grew up in Maine and attended Portland Public Schools. After graduating from college, serving in the Peace Corps and working in finance in New York, Rep. Millett moved home to Maine in 2000. Upon returning to Maine, she served on the Cape Elizabeth School Board from 2004 to 2010 and co-founded a citizens’ advocacy group to support advancements in local education. Rep. Millett is the founder and co-chair of the Legislature's Children’s Caucus. She serves on the New England Board of Higher Education, co-chairing its Legislative Advisory Committee, and the Children's Cabinet Early Childhood Advisory Committee. She lives in Cape Elizabeth with her husband, where they raised their son and daughter. She loves hiking, backpacking and skiing with her family and studies piano.
