Rep. Becky Jauch is serving her first term in the Maine House of Representatives. She sits on the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee.

Rep. Jauch has spent most of her professional career working in public service. She has a wide range of experience, including as a victim/witness advocate for Sagadahoc County, a firearms and explosives industry operations inspector for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, a U.S. Army interrogator/linguist, an operations officer with the Central Intelligence Agency and, most recently, as the Sagadahoc County Treasurer.

Rep. Jauch is deeply involved in her community, volunteering at her children’s school and her town’s library, as well as serving on her town’s Board of Appeals. Some of her legislative priorities include addressing the need for more affordable childcare, universal Pre-K and building resiliency to the impacts of climate change.

Rep. Jauch grew up in Brunswick and received her bachelor’s degree in criminology from the University of Southern Maine, where she is also currently working towards her master’s degree in statistics. She lives in Topsham with her husband, Matt, and their son, daughter and cat named Matilda.

Rep. Jauch is a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Committee On Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.

Brief description of the subject matter handled by the committee: Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry; agricultural development; agricultural fairs, products and marketing; animal control and welfare; harness racing; food policy; food safety, inspection and labeling; dairy industry; pest management and pesticides regulation; industrial hemp; state parks, historic sites, public lands and submerged lands; Maine Land Use Planning Commission; geological surveying and mapping; Maine Forest Service; timber harvesting; industrial hemp; the Land for Maine’s Future Program; and Baxter State Park..
