Representative Nicole Grohoski
  Representing: Ellsworth and Trenton
District #132

Rep. Nicole Grohoski is serving her first term in the Maine House.

Grohoski is a GIS specialist and cartographer and works for a small, Maine-based mapping company. She grew up in Ellsworth and graduated from Middlebury College, where she studied environmental studies and chemistry with a minor in math.

She served as a volunteer firefighter while living in Vermont and is now a wilderness first responder and volunteer trail maintainer. She also volunteers with the Maine Master Naturalist Program, the Ellsworth Green Plan, and is the board secretary for the non-profit Northern Forest Canoe Trail, which she was the first woman to thru-paddle in 2006.

As a lawmaker, Grohoski is a passionate advocate for more affordable health care and environmental protection.

Rep. Grohoski is a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Energy Utilities and Technology.

Brief description of the subject matter handled by the committee: Energy policy, including energy resources, efficiency and conservation; insulation; electric industry, including supply, transmission and distribution; natural gas industry; telecommunications industry, including mobile, telephone, Internet, broadband and cable television services; E-9-1-1; water and sewer utilities, including district charters; Public Utilities Commission; Office of the Public Advocate; Governor’s Office of Independence and Security; and Efficiency Maine Trust.
