Representative Vicki Doudera
 
     
  Representing: Camden and Rockport
District #41
   

Rep. Vicki Doudera is serving her third term in the Maine House of Representatives. She is a member of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee and the Marine Resources Committee.

An entrepreneur and writer, Rep. Doudera is the author of nine books, including "Moving to Maine" and a murder mystery series. A former innkeeper, she now works as a realtor, a job she credits with honing her skills of negotiation and compromise. She is a graduate of Hamilton College, where she majored in comparative literature and played field and ice hockey.

Rep. Doudera is a past president and current board member of Midcoast Habitat For Humanity. She also served as an officer with the Camden Conservation Commission and is an active member of the First Congregational Church of Camden. She plays ukulele with UkesRock in Rockland and enjoys hiking and boating in Penobscot Bay.

Doudera and her husband, Ed, have three grown children, all of whom attended Camden-Rockport schools, as well as two grandsons. Two of their children are happily settled in Maine, with the third in nearby Vermont.

Committee

Rep. Doudera is a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Environment and Natural Resources and the Joint Standing Committee on Marine Resources.

Brief description of the subject matter handled by the committee: Air and water quality; natural resource protection; site location of development laws, shoreland zoning, subdivisions and growth management; management and disposal of solid, hazardous, biomedical and special wastes; hydropower and dams; waste-to-energy facilities; mining; general environmental policy, including oversight of the Department of Environmental Protection; and returnable containers.

Brief description of the subject matter handled by the committee: Department of Marine Resources; Marine Patrol; commercial and recreational marine fisheries management, licensing and enforcement; marine science and research; shellfish sanitation and management; and aquaculture.
