Representative Edward Crockett
  Representing: part of Portland
District #43

Rep. Ed Crockett is serving his first term in the Maine House of Representatives.

A Portland native, Crockett was born and raised on Munjoy Hill. He attended the University of Maine at Orono and double majored in journalism and broadcasting. Crockett later earned an MBA from Boston College. He is currently the president of an upscale soft drink company and has previously worked for a Bangor television station and a number of major food distribution companies.

Crockett is also an author, having recently penned a memoir, “Skid Row Survivors.” He is a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, a former corporator for Boys & Girls Clubs and spent time as a volunteer youth coach.

Crockett, his wife, Martha, and his three children, Seth, Mattie and Ted, all graduated from Portland High School.

Rep. Crockett is a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Innovation Development Economic Activity and Commerce.

Brief description of the subject matter handled by the committee: Business regulation, including automobile and fuel sales; retail pricing; franchising; advertising; real estate practices; professional and occupational licensing; consumer protection; Finance Authority of Maine (FAME), including student assistance programs at Finance Authority of Maine; economic development; economic planning and development agencies; venture capital and trade programs; opportunity zones; import competition; product marketing; research and development; technology commercialization; technology transfers; tourism; and defense facility conversion.
