This bill would transfer authority for the
licensing of land-based aquaculture from the Department of Agriculture,
Conservation and Forestry (ACF) to the Department of Marine Resources (DMR).
No licenses have yet been issued for this purpose by ACF. Any additional
costs to DMR as a result of licenses issued in the future are anticipated to
be minor and can be absorbed within budgeted resources. The issuance of marine organism aquaculture
licenses is not expected to generate significant revenue. |
