This amendment eliminates the General Fund cost of the bill by 1) reducing the General Fund appropriations to the Doctors for Maine's Future Scholarship Fund by $400,000 in each year of the 2020-2021 biennium, 2) specifying that the funding is for the 2020-2021 biennium only, and 3) requiring the State Controller to transfer $400,000 in both fiscal years 2019-20 and 2020-21 from available balances in Other Special Revenue Funds accounts within the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation to the General Fund unappropriated surplus on or before June 30th of each fiscal year.
As amended, this bill includes one-time General Fund appropriations of $400,000 per year in fiscal years 2019-20 and 2020-21 only to the Doctors for Maine's Future Scholarship Fund within the Finance Authority of Maine.
