An Act To Preserve Maine's Heritage by Expanding Maine Youth Hunting
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §11251, sub-§3, as enacted by PL 2017, c. 357, §1, is amended to read:
3. Youth bear hunting days. The commissioner may establish by rule a 3 consecutive days, Thursday to Saturday, as youth hunting day days for hunting bear.
Sec. 2. 12 MRSA §11402, sub-§4, ¶C, as enacted by PL 2003, c. 414, Pt. A, §2 and affected by c. 614, §9, is amended to read:
C. Establish a 3 consecutive days, Thursday to Saturday, as youth deer hunting day days.
SUMMARY
This bill allows the Commissioner of Inland and Fisheries and Wildlife to establish 3 consecutive days as youth hunting days for hunting bear and deer.
