An Act To Address Maine's Firefighter Shortage by Offering Firefighter Training for Credit in High School Career and Technical Education Programs

Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §8308  is enacted to read:

§ 8308.  Firefighter training

Notwithstanding the provisions of section 8306-B, subsection 2, a center or region may offer as a career and technical education program firefighter training that meets the requirements of section 8306-B, subsection 3. The program shall use National Fire Protection Association standards for fire fighter professional qualifications as the industry standard under section 8306-B, subsection 3.
