An Act To Encourage the Installation of Solar Panels on Residential Property
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 36 MRSA §656, sub-§1, ¶K is enacted to read:
K. Solar panels and equipment necessary for operation of the solar panels installed on property that qualifies for a homestead exemption under section 683.
SUMMARY
This bill provides a property tax exemption for solar panels and associated equipment installed on residential property that qualifies for a homestead exemption.
