Fiscal Detail and Notes
Establishing a new method for funding K-12 public education which calculates each school administrative unit share by multiplying its total valuation for the taxable property within the school administrative unit by .008 and requires the State's share to be the difference between the local share and the school administrative unit's expenses may result in increased costs to the State for General Purpose Aid for Local Schools.  The amount can not be determined at this time.  This legislation may also impact the amount of funds that school administrative units will have to raise to fund its share of K-12 public education with some local units having to raise more funds and some units having to raise less.  The impact to individual school administrative units can not be determined at this time.
