Amend the amendment by striking out all of section 2 and inserting the following:
‘Sec. 2. Reporting date. Resolved: That no later than January 31, 2009 the council shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over education and cultural affairs and the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over state and local government matters. The council shall include in the report a draft of any legislation necessary to implement its recommendations.’
SUMMARY
This amendment requires the Maine State Cultural Affairs Council to submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over state and local government matters as well as the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over education and cultural affairs.
