Amend the resolve by striking out the title and substituting the following:
‘Resolve, To Provide for an Independent Evaluation of the Procedures and Programs of the Department of Health and Human Services for Promoting Permanency and Safety for Children’
Amend the resolve by striking out all of the emergency preamble (page 1, lines 1 to 12 in L.D.)
Amend the resolve in section 1 in subsection 3 in the first line (page 1, line 40 in L.D.) by striking the following: "July 15, 2007" and inserting the following: 'December 1, 2007'
Amend the resolve in section 2 in the 3rd line (page 2, line 12 in L.D.) by striking out the following: "First" and inserting the following: 'Second'
Amend the resolve by striking out all of the emergency clause (page 2, lines 18 and 19 in L.D.)

This amendment changes the date by which the Department of Health and Human Services must report to the Joint Standing Committee on Health and Human Services from July 15, 2007 to December 1, 2007 and specifies that the committee may submit legislation to the Second Regular Session of the 123rd Legislature.
