An Act To Require Seat Belts on All School Buses
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §2304-A is enacted to read:
§ 2304-A. Safety seat belts
1. Passenger safety seat belts for school buses. Every new school bus purchased after January 1, 2008 for use in the State must be equipped with safety seat belts for use by all passengers.
SUMMARY
This bill requires that new school buses purchased after January 1, 2008 must be equipped with safety seat belts for use by all passengers.
