Rep. Ralph Tucker is in his second term in the Maine House of Representatives. He serves as House chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee.

A graduate of Hobart College and the University of Maine Law School, Tucker practiced labor and workers’ compensation law statewide. He served on the Maine Workers’ Compensation Board from 1981-1993, the last seven as chair. He served as a District Court judge for seven years before retiring. He has served on the Brunswick School Board and Town Council.

Tucker lives in Brunswick with his wife of more than 40 years, Nancy. They have three grown children and two granddaughters.

Committee

Rep. Tucker serves as House chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Environment and Natural Resources.


Brief description of the subject matter handled by the committee: Air and water quality; natural resource protection; site location of development laws, shoreland zoning, subdivisions and growth management; management and disposal of solid, hazardous, biomedical and special wastes; hydropower and dams; waste-to-energy facilities; mining; general environmental policy, including oversight of the Department of Environmental Protection; and returnable containers.
