Representative Dale Denno
  Representing: Cumberland and Gray (part)
District #45

Rep. Dale Denno is serving his second term in the Maine House of Representatives.

Rep. Denno grew up as one of eight children on his family dairy farm. He worked hard in school and went on to graduate from both Syracuse University and Cornell Law School.

Professionally, Denno worked at UNUM as VP and Managing Counsel and as VP for Marketing and Product Development. He was later appointed Director of the Office for Family Independence at DHHS, where he retired in 2013.

He and his wife, artist Diane Dahlke, have lived in Cumberland for 32 years. His two sons graduated from Greely High in SAD 51, where Denno has been a school board member and chair.

Currently, he is an adjunct professor of Business Law at St. Joseph’s College in Standish and, until elected, served as Chairman of Cumberland’s Aging in Place Committee. Denno’s volunteer activities have included co-founding the Debate team at Greely High School, serving as a Preble Street Soup Kitchen manager and teaching English to adults as a literacy volunteer through LearningWorks.

Rep. Denno is a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Innovation Development Economic Activity and Commerce.

Brief description of the subject matter handled by the committee: Business regulation, including automobile and fuel sales; retail pricing; franchising; advertising; real estate practices; professional and occupational licensing; consumer protection; Finance Authority of Maine (FAME), including student assistance programs at Finance Authority of Maine; economic development; economic planning and development agencies; venture capital and trade programs; opportunity zones; import competition; product marketing; research and development; technology commercialization; technology transfers; tourism; and defense facility conversion.
